Destinations In Spain that you are not allowed to miss

Travelling to Spain
As you probably know, the beautiful country of Spain is a very popular one among tourists. If you are one of the few millions who dream about travelling to Spain, then you have to know that you should not stay in just one place. In order to see all the beauties of the country or at least parts of them, you have to go from one place to another; you have to feel the Spanish experience on your own skin!

Starting the journey
There is no better place to start the Spanish journey than Barcelona. Gaudi's city, renowned for the outstanding, modernist architecture is one that never seems to sleep. You have to stroll down the popular and beautiful Passeig de Garcia Avenue, visit the Casa Mila, the interesting Casa Batllo and all the important art galleries in the city and make a stop in the Old Gothic Quarter (this is the place where the overwhelming Gothic Cathedral waits for its visitors).

Continuing the journey
When you finish your visit in Barcelona, go to Figueres. From Barcelona you only have to drive for an hour to the North in order to reach Figueres, so the road leading to it is no excuse for you! Figueres hosts the Dali Museum, one of the most important museums in Spain. The unique characteristic of the museum is that it was created by Dali himself and it hosts some of his most valuable works; the works collection you will have the chance to visit in this museum has not been surpassed by any other in the world. Since you are very close to Barcelona's coastline, do not hesitate to spend a few days exploring and discovering Costa Brava, one of the most exclusive holiday destinations in Spain.

Going to San Sebastian and Pamplona
San Sebastian is sophisticated and cosmopolitan at the same time and it represents that typical Spanish beach gateway. Situated in the heart of the Basque country, San Sebastian became famous for its delicious tapas that have a unique flavor influenced by the nearby border with France. Pamplona is famous for the dangerous bull running tradition, celebrated by a big festival every year: the San Fermin. It is true that only a few months would help you get to know Spain, but try it even if you only have a few days at your disposal! I am sure you will love it!

Book Late Holidays to the Great American Lakes

Five lakes make up the Great Lakes of America and are the largest collection of freshwater lakes on this planet. There are lots of things to do on the lakes of Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie, and Ontario, including plenty of watersports such as canoeing. Late holidays can be found in abundance and the lakes are a great place to holiday whether you're in a group, couple of just travelling by yourself.

The smallest of the five lakes is Lake Ontario and has lots of boating routes available. You can check out the Trent-Severn Waterway, which links up with Lake Huron at the Bay of Quinte, making for quite an exciting canoe trip. Another choice is the Rideau Canal; it connects the lake at Kingston to the Ottawa River in Ottawa and is commonly used for pleasure boats. The Oswego Canal connects the lake to the New York Canal System, leading to Hudson River, Lake Erie and Lake Champlain.

Lake Michigan is the only lake in the group to be situated entirely in the USA. It's the second largest of all the lakes, judging on volume. Through the ages, many different people used the lake as their community; nowadays 12 million people live along the shores, mainly in Chicago and Milwaukee. There are lots of holiday deals available, so you can make the most of the beaches along the coastline, perfect for sporting activities, including canoeing to many of the islands. There are also a lot of summer homes here, as people enjoy the warmer seasons here and return home for the winter.

Lake Huron is home to Manitoulin Island, which offers lots of things to do. Water sports and canoeing are very popular; you can obtain maps from nearby cities or information centres if you plan to go on longer canoe excursions. It's definitely wise to check out the routes and familiarise yourself with area before you head out, as the open waters are huge.

The largest lake is Superior, which also happens to be the largest lake in the entire area if you're judging based on surface area. Lake Superior spreads itself across Ontario, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan. The largest island found within Superior is Isle Royale in Michigan, and it actually has a few lakes of its own on the island. Scenic places to visit include Pukaskwa National Park, Lake Superior Provincial Park, Porcupine Mountains, Wilderness State Park, Sleeping Giant and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. If you're worried about organising all this yourself, consider package holidays. Other islands in Superior include Madeline Island and Michipicoten Island, both of which are great for camping and taking a canoe out on the shores.

Lake Erie is a popular choice for authors - it's had many poems and stories written about it through the ages. The lake, which is located across Ontario, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan and New York, has been described as a 'sun-drenched nearly tropical retreat'. There are also delicious seafood restaurants, water parks and several vineyards you can take tours of. Put-in-Bay on South Bass Island is a fun place to visit, as is Kelleys Island where you can relax on the beach, go hiking, cycling or canoeing.
